Boating Central started back in 1984 as Power Drive Marine Pty Ltd.
I came into the business in 1987 having spent all my spare time involved in boating.

During that time I have employed some great staff and skilled boat builders. Brendan Garner was our key boat builder and rigger. He now works indepently for himself with a great support team. I have learned lots from this great team.

We are now located in South Geelong at a dedicated retail /warehouse facility that is continually developing. Our warehouse is set up to cater for scaling up the ever-increasing online sales and as we do this our aim is to be super-efficient in managing orders and deliveries. We also have a retail outlet in Williamstown,Melbourne.

I have done lots of offshore racing including several Sydney -Hobarts, Melbourne - Hobarts, and numerous racing around Bass Straight. I've raced to Portland, Port Fairy, Hastings, Stanley, Devonport, and King Island numerous times. Hamilton Island Race was a must do even if we were in one of the smallest boat- a half tonner called Ruzulu.I have also cruised from Sydney to Hamilton Island and been on plenty of motorboats in my life.

I have a strong connection with Royal Geelong Yacht Club and am the 3rd generation of 4 family generations involved with Royal Geelong. My daughter Olivia started sailing in a typical pathway. Optimists then to Cadets where she represented Australia at the Cadet worlds in Weymouth, England (finishing 8th). Then came 29 er's and a brief  stint in 49 er's. Now at University,

I have been a keen volunteer and have been fortunate to be Commodore of the R.G.Y.C  some 10 years ago. Prior to that I have been Chairman of the Sailing Committee and Chairman of the now -Festival of Sails.

During my time 'Skandia Race Week' was in full flight and it was a great time to be involved with the club.

Sailing and boating have been part of my life and I continue to keep up to date with the ever-changing facets of our industry.

I really look forward to the next chapter of our business.
