Our story: A passion for boating, a legacy of trust
Boating Central began in 1984 as Power Drive Marine, and current owner Andrew Neilson joined the business in 1987 after a lifetime spent on the water. What started as a hands-on boat-building operation has grown into a trusted destination for quality boating gear and expert advice, proudly serving boaters across Australia both online and in-store.
Who is Andrew?
Andrew brings decades of offshore racing experience, including multiple Sydney to Hobart and Melbourne to Hobart races, as well as countless coastal passages around Bass Strait. A third-generation member and former Commodore of the Royal Geelong Yacht Club, Andrew’s connection to the boating community runs deep, with years of volunteer leadership and involvement in major sailing events.
